OUR STORY
Big Man Kitchen was founded by Zachary A. Garcia, whose love for cooking started at just three years old – when he proudly called himself a “cooker.”
Growing up, family dinners were a central part of life, deeply rooted in his Puerto Rican and Dominican heritage. Those early experiences in the kitchen sparked a passion that would shape his future.
Zachary went to the Providence Career and Technical Academy, Providence, Rhode Island, where he completed their culinary program. After graduation, he attended Lincoln Culinary Institute in Hartford, Connecticut. He built his skills working as a cook in professional kitchens – but his dream was always bigger; to one day own a business of his own. That dream is also deeply personal.
Zachary was especially inspired by his brother, who loved his cooking and was one of his biggest supporters. After his brother’s passing in 2022, that inspiration became a driving force. They were two big men and Big Man Kitchen is a tribute to that bond – a way to carry forward love, memory, and purpose through food.
